Creating Data Access Layers with ORM tools
Ido Flatow
For years, architects and programmers struggled to create a DAL that will suite their product's needs. Some wrote custom classes, some used DataSet objects and some turned to 3rd party ORM tools, such as NHibernate. With the release of Ado.Net Entity Framework in 2008 and the upcoming release of the new EF4, we are facing a variety of ORMs to choose from. In this session, we'll get familiar with ORM architecture, and take a look at the two competitors - NHibernate and Entity Framework, to learn how you can use them as your DAL.
